The calculation involves adding the digits of the birthdate until a single digit is obtained, or using the "destiny number" from the person's full name.

For example, if someone was born on October 15, 1987, the birthdate digits would be 15101987. Adding these together results in 37, which further reduces to 10, and then to 1. Therefore, their kohtalonumero would be 1.

According to Waltari's teachings, each kohtalonumero has specific characteristics and traits associated with it. For instance, the number 1 is often linked to leadership, independence, and a strong will. The number 2, on the other hand, is associated with cooperation, diplomacy, and adaptability.
