Kohászatban
Kohászatban refers to metallurgy in Hungarian. It is the science and technology of the physical and chemical behavior of metallic elements, their intermetallic compounds, and their mixtures, which are called alloys. The practice of extracting metals from their ores is also a core part of metallurgy. This involves processes like smelting, refining, and alloying. Metallurgy is a broad field encompassing both ferrous metallurgy, which deals with iron and steel, and non-ferrous metallurgy, which covers all other metals like aluminum, copper, and gold. The study of metallurgy is crucial for many industries, including automotive, aerospace, construction, and electronics, as metals and their alloys are fundamental materials for manufacturing a vast array of products. Historical development of metallurgy has been a key driver of technological advancement throughout human history, from the Bronze Age to the Industrial Revolution. Modern metallurgy continues to innovate with the development of new alloys with enhanced properties and more sustainable extraction and processing techniques.
