This condition is characterized by the formation of a firm, white, and often yellowish clot within the affected area. The process begins with the activation of the coagulation cascade, a series of enzymatic reactions that lead to the formation of a fibrin clot. This clot is intended to seal off the damaged area and prevent the spread of blood, but in koagulaatiokitis, the clot formation is excessive and can lead to tissue damage.
