Klokkebuffere

Klokkebuffere, often translated as "bell buffers" or "bell dampers," are devices designed to mitigate the unwanted ringing or reverberation that can occur in bells, particularly in clock towers or carillons. These devices typically consist of a soft material, such as leather, felt, or rubber, strategically placed to come into contact with the bell's clapper. When the clapper strikes the bell, the klokkebuffer absorbs some of the vibrational energy, preventing the bell from producing a prolonged, dissonant tone.

The primary function of a klokkebuffer is to control the sustain of the bell's sound.
