Kitchener–Waterloo, often abbreviated as KW or K-W, is a metropolitan area in Southern Ontario, Canada, comprising the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo and the surrounding communities within the Region of Waterloo. It lies on the Grand River, about 100 kilometers west of Toronto. The region’s core, Kitchener and Waterloo, are the largest urban centers in the area, with Cambridge and smaller municipalities such as Wilmot, Woolwich, and North Dumfries in the same region.
