Kissi

Kissi is a region located in central Guinea, West Africa. It is bordered by the Donka Prefecture to the north, the Mamou Prefecture to the south, the Faranah Prefecture to the east, and the Kindia Prefecture to the west. Kissi is divided into six rural districts: Donton, Gaoual, Koubia, Kololicit, Mandiana, and Sevengueth.

The region has a diverse geography, featuring forests, savannas, and hills. The Fouta Djallon mountain range runs through Kissi, with peaks reaching elevations of over 1,700 meters. The climate is characterized by a rainy season from May to October and a dry season from November to April.

Kissi is inhabited by various ethnic groups, including the Kissi people, who are primarily farmers and herders. Agriculture is the main economic activity in the region, with crops such as rice, maize, and peanuts being major producers. The region is also rich in natural resources, including bauxite and iron ore.

The population of Kissi is estimated to be around 342,000 people. The language spoken in the region is primarily Kissi, but French is also widely used. The region has limited access to education and healthcare facilities, which are mainly located in the provincial capital of Kissi.
