Kilekeevituse

Kilekeevituse, also known as "kilekeevitus" or "kilekeevitamine," is a traditional Estonian folk practice involving the ritualistic removal of a person's tonsils. This practice is deeply rooted in Estonian folklore and has historical significance, particularly in rural areas where it was more common. The procedure was often performed by a skilled folk healer or "kilekeevitaja," who would use traditional methods and tools to carefully remove the tonsils.
