Kielégüléselmélet

Kielégüléselmélet, often translated as "satisfaction theory" or "fulfillment theory," is a concept in Hungarian philosophy and psychology that explores the nature of human desires and their eventual satiation. It posits that human actions and motivations are primarily driven by a fundamental desire to achieve a state of contentment or fulfillment, and that this fulfillment is achieved through the satisfaction of various needs and wants.

The theory suggests that humans are inherently goal-oriented beings, constantly striving to alleviate discomfort or lack and attain a state of equilibrium. This pursuit of satisfaction is not seen as a singular event but rather a continuous process. Once one desire is met, another often emerges, creating a dynamic cycle of wanting and achieving. However, kielégüléselmélet also acknowledges that the nature of satisfaction can vary. Some satisfactions are temporary, while others can lead to a more profound and lasting sense of well-being.

Furthermore, the theory touches upon the idea that the pursuit of unattainable goals or the constant seeking of external validation can lead to perpetual dissatisfaction.
