Khovrino

Khovrino is a district in the Northern Administrative Okrug of Moscow, Russia. It is located north of the Moscow Ring Road and is bordered by the Zaygorye district to the east, Golovinskiy to the south, and Levoberezhny to the west. The district's name is derived from the former village of Khovrino, which was incorporated into Moscow in 1960.

Historically, the area was known for its agricultural lands and a manor that belonged to the Khovrin family. The development of Khovrino as a residential district began in the late Soviet era with the construction of large panel housing blocks. Today, it is primarily a residential area, with a mix of Soviet-era buildings and newer developments.

The district is served by several transport routes, including the Moscow Metro's Zamoskvoretskaya Line, with the Khovrino and Belomorskaya stations located within its boundaries. A significant feature of Khovrino is its proximity to the Khimki Reservoir, a large artificial body of water that provides recreational opportunities. The district also has several parks and green spaces, contributing to its relatively good environmental standing within the city. Khovrino is home to a diverse population and continues to be a developing urban area.
