Khafre, also known as Khefren, was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty. He is believed to have reigned during the period of the Old Kingdom, approximately from 2558 to 2532 BC. Khafre was the son of Khufu, the builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza, and the younger brother of Djedefre, his predecessor. His reign is notable for the construction of the second-largest pyramid at Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre.
