Keuhkoilla

Keuhkoilla is the plural adessive form of the Finnish noun keuhko (lung). It means “on the lungs” or “at the lungs” and is used to indicate a location on the surface or area of the lungs in anatomical or medical descriptions. The form is created by adding the plural adessive suffix -illa to the stem keuhko-, yielding keuhkoilla.

Keuhkoilla is part of a set of Finnish case forms that express different spatial relations. For example, keuhkoissa means “in the lungs,” keuhkoihin means “into the lungs,” and keuhkoille means “onto the lungs.” Phrasal alternatives such as keuhkojen pinnalla (on the surface of the lungs) are also common, depending on the nuance and precision required.
