Kausityösopimus

Kausityösopimus, often translated as seasonal employment contract, is a type of employment agreement used in Finland. It is specifically designed for work that is by its nature seasonal, meaning it can only be performed during a certain period of the year. This type of contract is common in industries such as agriculture, forestry, tourism, and event management, where demand for labor fluctuates with the seasons.

The key characteristic of a kausityösopimus is that it defines a specific start and end date for the employment, aligning with the seasonal nature of the work. This provides clarity for both the employer and the employee regarding the duration of the commitment. Unlike a permanent contract, a kausityösopimus automatically terminates at the agreed-upon end date, unless otherwise extended or converted into a different type of agreement.
