Katetut

Katetut is a Finnish term that functions as the plural past participle form of the verb kattaa, meaning “to cover.” It is most often used as an adjective or in predicative constructions to describe objects that have been covered. The form is built with the participle suffix -ttu and agrees with the noun it modifies in number and case.

In usage, katetut describes things that have been covered, such as katetut pöydät (the covered tables) or katetut tilat (the covered spaces). It can occur in sentences like Pöydät ovat katetut, meaning “The tables are covered.” In phrases with multiple nouns or in different cases, the same participle form adapts accordingly (for example, katettujen pöytien) to express relationships such as possession or description.
