KarstadtQuelle AG was a German holding company formed in 1999 by the merger of Karstadt Warenhaus AG, a department-store group, and Quelle AG, a mail-order business. Headquartered in Essen, it operated as the parent company for a portfolio of retail and consumer services and was listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
