Kamikochi
Kamikochi is a scenic mountain resort located in the Chubu Sangaku National Park in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Situated at an altitude of approximately 1,500 meters (4,900 feet), it is a popular destination for hiking, nature walks, and enjoying breathtaking alpine scenery. The Kamikochi valley is renowned for its crystal-clear Azusa River, which flows through the heart of the area, flanked by dramatic peaks such as Mount Hotaka and Mount Yari.
The resort is accessible primarily by bus from Matsumoto Station or Shin-Shimashima Station, with private vehicles
Kamikochi serves as a gateway for more challenging ascents into the Japanese Alps, attracting experienced mountaineers.
