Kamerarörelser, or camera movements, are fundamental techniques in filmmaking and videography that involve physically moving the camera during a shot. These movements are used to convey information, create mood, and guide the viewer's attention.

One common movement is the pan, where the camera pivots horizontally on a fixed point, either from left to right or right to left. A tilt involves the camera moving vertically, up or down, while remaining stationary. The dolly shot, also known as trucking, occurs when the camera moves forward or backward, often on a wheeled platform. A track or tracking shot is similar but refers to the camera moving laterally, parallel to the subject or scene.

Craning, or boom shots, involve the camera moving vertically upwards or downwards, often on a crane or jib arm, offering a dramatic change in perspective. Handheld shots involve the camera being operated without stabilization, creating a sense of immediacy, realism, or instability. Steadicam shots use a gyroscopic stabilizer to achieve smooth, fluid movement, even when the operator is walking or running. Zooms are often discussed alongside camera movements, but technically they involve changing the focal length of the lens rather than physically moving the camera. However, they serve a similar purpose in altering the viewer's perspective and focus within the frame. Each movement has a distinct effect on the narrative and emotional impact of a scene.
