Kalyan

Kalyan is a city and taluka in the Thane district of Maharashtra, India. It forms part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and lies on the banks of the Ulhas River, northeast of Mumbai. The city serves as a commercial and transportation hub for the surrounding area, with a long history as a trading center in the region.

The Kalyan Junction railway station is a major hub on the Central line of the Mumbai suburban railway network, connecting to Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai. The city is linked by national and state highways and is complemented by growing residential and commercial development that extends into neighboring Dombivli and beyond. The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation governs Kalyan and the adjacent city of Dombivli.
