Kalhoros

Kalhoros, also known as Kalhoroi or Kalhour, is an ancient settlement located in Yobe State, northeastern Nigeria. The site is situated approximately 30 kilometers north of the town of Damaturu, the state capital. Kalhoros is a significant archaeological find, boasting a history dating back to the Kanuri Kingdom, a medieval empire that flourished from the 15th to the 18th century.

Excavations at Kalhoros have uncovered a number of structures, including tombs, dwellings, and ritualistic buildings. The settlement's architecture is characteristic of the Kanuri Kingdom's style, featuring mud-brick structures and elaborate stone carvings.
