Kaldoaivi

Kaldoaivi is a fell located in Finnish Lapland. It is situated in the municipality of Savukoski. The fell forms part of the Paistunturit mountain range. Kaldoaivi has a distinctive landscape with heathlands and pine forests, which characterizes the region's treeless and hilly terrain.

Geologically, the area around Kaldoaivi is comprised of Precambrian-aged metamorphic rocks. The rocks in this region have been shaped by tectonic forces and weathering over millions of years. The base of the mountain is surrounded by a network of valleys and smaller hills, adding to the region's diverse topography.

Kaldoaivi is not a notable mountain in terms of height, but its unique landscape and position make it a significant location in the region. The Kaldoaivi area, including the mountain, is part of the Paistunturit Nature Reserve. The nature reserve is divided into several sections, each with its unique characteristics, including pristine tundra, and spruce-dominated forests. These areas protect areas with high conservation value.
