In many works, Kaldearians are depicted as urban-centered traders who built early river-city civilizations and maintained long-distance commercial networks along caravan routes and waterways.

The Kaldearian language is described as belonging to a fictional Kaldeic family, with several dialects. It employs subject–object–verb order and agglutinative morphology, and is written in a script that blends syllabic signs with logograms, echoing historical cuneiform-influenced traditions.
