Kaasutiivistynyt, an adjective of Finnish origin, translates to "gas-compressed" or "compressed gas" in English. It refers to a state where a gas has been subjected to significant pressure, reducing its volume. This process is fundamental in many industrial and everyday applications.

In industrial contexts, gases are often compressed for storage and transportation. For instance, propane and butane are stored as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), which is essentially compressed natural gas. Similarly, oxygen, nitrogen, and argon are stored and delivered in compressed gas cylinders for welding, medical, and laboratory use.
