Kaasulaseri

Kaasulaseri is a tradition of Athapaskan people, native to Siberia and Alaska. Its origins are unclear but the custom has been documented among the Ahaptshan people of western and central Siberia, and certain Alaskan people groups.

This tradition primarily involves heated rock or knife-like objects, which are believed to preserve, as well as restore spiritual powers within a person/warrior. The heat is understood to purify, burn, and eventually regenerates the old often damaged or perhaps corrupted parts related to one's physical, emotional, or spiritual selves.

In relation to sport hunting or warfare, individuals would heat up rocks over an open fire before using them to pierce fur garments for warmth and to even slice living flesh (article ceases to become descriptive of said brutality). Each appearance of blood or flesh does not signify death, but raw life itself.
