KNRM

Koninklijke Nederlandse Redding Maatschappij (KNRM) is a Dutch nonprofit organization that provides maritime search and rescue services along the coast of the Netherlands and on inland waters. Founded as a volunteer rescue society, KNRM relies on trained volunteers to operate its lifeboats and perform rescue missions. The organization operates a fleet of all-weather lifeboats and inshore rescue craft stationed at numerous coastal and inland locations.

Crews include coxswains, mechanics, medical personnel, and winch operators; volunteers train regularly to maintain readiness for emergencies at sea. KNRM is funded through a combination of private donations, legacies, and subsidies, and it is governed by a national board with local station committees.
