Külmakahjustuseni is the Estonian term for frostbite, a medical condition caused by freezing of the skin and underlying tissues. It occurs when body parts are exposed to temperatures below freezing for a prolonged period. Common areas affected include the fingers, toes, nose, ears, cheeks, and chin. Initially, the affected area may feel cold and numb, followed by a prickling or tingling sensation. As the damage progresses, the skin may turn white or grayish-yellow, feel hard and waxy, and eventually become black and dead.
