Külgportvalves

Külgportvalves, also known as side port valves, are a type of control valve designed with an additional side port. This extra port serves a specific function, typically for venting, draining, or introducing a secondary fluid or gas into the main flow path. Unlike standard valves that only control the primary flow between an inlet and an outlet, külgportvalves offer a more complex operational capability.

The design of a külgportvalve usually involves a standard valve body with a modification to incorporate the side port. This can be achieved in various ways depending on the valve type, such as ball valves, globe valves, or plug valves. For instance, a külgport ball valve might have a hole drilled through the ball itself or in the valve body, aligning with the side port in a specific position.

The applications of külgportvalves are diverse. They are often used in systems requiring precise control of pressure or flow by allowing controlled bleeding of the medium. In chemical processing, they can be utilized for sampling or for injecting catalysts or other agents into a reaction. In hydraulic or pneumatic systems, the side port might be used for bleeding air or for connecting a pressure gauge. The ability to isolate or introduce substances via the side port makes them valuable in specialized industrial processes where additional control points are necessary.
