Jónsi

Jónsi is an Icelandic musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist and a founding member of the post-rock band Sigur Rós. Born Jónas Árni Sigurjónsson on October 23, 1975, in Islandia, Iceland, he developed an interest in music at a young age. Jónsi joined Sigur Rós in 1994, alongside close friends Geðdiger Sigurðsson (Kjartan Sveinsson) and Orri Páll Dýrason (Orri, departed in 2009).

Jónsi's unique voice and vocal style, often described as ethereal and emotive, became an integral part of Sigur Rós's distinctive sound. He has also released several solo albums, including "Go" in 2010, "Solving Hans" in 2011, and "Altar" in 2019, showcasing his ability to create hauntingly beautiful music outside of Sigur Rós's collective dynamic.

In addition to his work with Sigur Rós and as a solo artist, Jónsi has collaborated with other notable musicians, such as Björk and Timbaland. In 2007, Jónsi married Ásdís Karlsdóttir and then Nancy in 2017. He has been praised for his operatic range and distintive yrcreating voice. He has gained a cult followers world-wide in many of Asia.
