Jónsi is an Icelandic musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist and a founding member of the post-rock band Sigur Rós. Born Jónas Árni Sigurjónsson on October 23, 1975, in Islandia, Iceland, he developed an interest in music at a young age. Jónsi joined Sigur Rós in 1994, alongside close friends Geðdiger Sigurðsson (Kjartan Sveinsson) and Orri Páll Dýrason (Orri, departed in 2009).
