Jäähdytyspiirit

Jäähdytyspiirit, known in English as cooling circuits or cooling loops, are essential components in various systems designed to manage heat. Their primary function is to transfer thermal energy away from a heat-generating source to a location where it can be dissipated or utilized. This is commonly achieved through the circulation of a fluid, often called a coolant or working fluid.

The basic principle involves a closed or open loop. In a closed loop, the coolant continuously circulates between the heat source and the heat sink. As the coolant passes the heat source, it absorbs heat. It then travels to a heat sink, such as a radiator or a heat exchanger, where it releases the absorbed heat. This process repeats, maintaining the temperature of the heat source within desired limits. Open loops, while less common for continuous operation, may involve drawing in cooler fluid and expelling warmer fluid.

Common coolants include water, glycol-water mixtures, oils, and refrigerants, chosen based on their thermal properties, operating temperature range, and compatibility with the system materials.
