Jännitesäde

Jännitesäde is a term used in Finnish discussions of electricity and physics to describe a conceptual beam or flow associated with electric potential. The term combines jännite (voltage) and säde (ray or beam). In practice, jännitesäde is not a standard field of physics; definitions vary by author and context.

Some writers use jännitesäde as a metaphor for the spatial distribution of voltage around a conductor or component, emphasizing directionality in high-voltage systems. In other formulations it is treated as a hypothetical directed transport of electrical energy analogous to a beam of light, though this is not a precise physical description.

In physical terms, the established quantities related to such ideas are the electric potential (voltage) and the electric field, and for energy flow the Poynting vector in electromagnetic theory. A true "jännitesäde" would, if used as a concrete concept, have to be grounded in these standard quantities; without that, it remains an illustrative metaphor rather than a measurable entity.
