Jännitekertoimella

Jännitekertoimella refers to a voltage multiplier circuit. It is an electrical circuit that produces a DC voltage that is approximately a multiple of the peak voltage of the applied AC input voltage. These circuits are typically made using a combination of diodes and capacitors. The output voltage from a jännitekertoimella can be significantly higher than the input voltage, making them useful in applications where a high DC voltage is required from a low AC source.

The most common type of jännitekertoimella is the Villard circuit, which uses a series of diode-capacitor stages. Each stage doubles the voltage, so a "doubler" circuit has two stages, a "tripler" has three, and so on. Another common configuration is the Cockcroft-Walton generator, which uses a ladder-like arrangement of diodes and capacitors to achieve very high DC voltages.

Examples include cathode ray tube (CRT) televisions and monitors, where a high voltage is needed to accelerate electrons towards the screen, and in certain types of power supplies, X-ray machines, and high-voltage test equipment. The efficiency and output voltage regulation of a jännitekertoimella can be affected by the load connected to it. The higher the load current, the more the output voltage tends to drop.
