Járművezetéshez (vehicle operation) refers to the skills, knowledge, and responsibilities required to safely and legally operate various types of vehicles, including cars, motorcycles, trucks, buses, and other motorized equipment. In many countries, including Hungary, it is regulated by law, requiring individuals to obtain the appropriate driving license before operating certain types of vehicles.

To legally drive a vehicle, one must typically pass a series of examinations, including a theoretical test covering traffic rules, road signs, and vehicle maintenance, as well as a practical driving test assessing the applicant’s ability to operate the vehicle in real-world conditions. The specific requirements vary depending on the type of vehicle and license class, such as B for cars, C for trucks, or D for buses.

In Hungary, the National Transportation Authority (Nemzeti Közlekedési Hatóság, NKH) oversees the licensing process. Applicants must be at least 18 years old to obtain a standard car license (B category) and must complete driver training from an accredited driving school. Additional requirements, such as medical examinations and vision tests, ensure that drivers meet the necessary physical and mental standards.

Beyond legal compliance, responsible vehicle operation includes adhering to traffic laws, maintaining the vehicle, and practicing defensive driving techniques to minimize risks. Proper training and continuous skill development are essential for safe and efficient transportation on public roads.
