Juomavarat

Juomavarat is a Finnish term that refers to the stock of beverages held by a household, business or institution for consumption, sale or service. The word combines juoma, meaning drink, and varat, meaning reserves or stock. It is used in retail, hospitality and household contexts to describe the range and quantity of beverages kept on hand.

The scope of juomavarat includes a wide variety of products. Non-alcoholic beverages such as water, milk, juice, tea, coffee, and soft drinks are common, as are alcoholic beverages like beer, wine and spirits, although the exact assortment depends on licensing, market demand and storage conditions. In stores and bars, juomavarastot are managed as part of inventory and supply chain planning, with attention to assortment, supplier lead times and turnover.

Inventory management of juomavarat involves standard practices such as stock level monitoring, ordering cycles, and rotation methods (for example, first-in, first-out) to minimize waste and ensure product quality.
