Jordfeilavbryter

A jordfeilavbryter, also known as a residual current device (RCD) or ground fault interrupter (GFI), is a safety device designed to protect electrical circuits from damage caused by ground faults or leakage currents. It works by monitoring the electrical current flowing through a circuit. In a healthy circuit, the current flowing out on the live wire is equal to the current returning on the neutral wire. If an imbalance is detected, meaning some current is leaking to the ground through a fault, the jordfeilavbryter rapidly interrupts the power supply. This rapid disconnection is crucial for preventing electric shocks to people and fires caused by overheating due to leakage currents.
