Jislums

Jislums are a type of traditional Japanese confectionery, originating from the Tohoku region of Japan. The name "jislum" is a portmanteau of "jis" (meaning "sweet") and "slum," reflecting the humble origins of this simple yet delicious treat. Jislums are typically made from a small, round piece of mochi (glutinous rice cake) coated in a thin layer of kinako (roasted soybean flour), which gives them a slightly sweet and nutty flavor.
