Jasc refers to Jasc Software, Inc., a software company best known for developing Paint Shop Pro, a raster graphics editor for Windows released in the 1990s. The company produced imaging and graphics software for consumers and small businesses.

Paint Shop Pro, Jasc’s flagship product, became a popular affordable alternative to higher-end editors, offering photo editing, drawing, and graphic design tools that evolved across multiple versions through the early 2000s.

In 2003, Corel Corporation acquired Jasc Software and integrated Paint Shop Pro into Corel’s product lineup. Following the acquisition, Jasc ceased to operate as an independent company, and Paint Shop Pro continued under the Corel brand with subsequent releases and updates.

Jasc’s legacy lies in helping to broaden access to capable imaging software for hobbyists and small studios, contributing to the growth of consumer digital image editing during the 1990s and 2000s.
