Jalkopäässä

Jalkopäässä is a Finnish term that translates directly to "at the foot end" or "at the head of the bed." It is most commonly used in the context of sleeping arrangements, referring to the lower part of a bed. This could be where a person's feet are placed, or it could describe a specific area of the bed.

The term is often used in everyday conversation when discussing where someone slept, the position of bedding, or when arranging furniture. For example, one might say "Lapsi nukkui jalkopäässä" meaning "The child slept at the foot end of the bed." Similarly, it can describe objects placed at that end of the bed, such as "Peitto oli jalkopäässä" meaning "The blanket was at the foot end."
