Jalkautetut
Jalkautetut is a Finnish term that translates to "disembarked" or "deplaned" in English. It refers to the action of passengers leaving an aircraft after a flight. This process typically occurs after an aircraft has landed at an airport and taxied to a gate or stand. Passengers disembark by walking down the aircraft's stairs or using a jet bridge, which connects the aircraft door directly to the terminal building. The term can also be used in a more general sense to describe people leaving a vehicle, such as a bus or train, though its primary association is with air travel. The efficiency and orderliness of jalkautetut are important aspects of airport operations, often managed by ground staff to ensure a smooth transition for travelers from the aircraft to the terminal facilities. This includes guiding passengers towards baggage claim, immigration, or onward connections. In situations where a jet bridge is unavailable, passengers may be transported from the aircraft to the terminal via buses.
