JVET

JVET, the Joint Video Experts Team, is a collaborative group formed by ITU-T's Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG) and ISO/IEC JTC1/SC29/WG11 (MPEG) to orchestrate research and development of next-generation video coding technologies. The team's mandate includes evaluating proposed coding tools, coordinating experimental validation, and producing the technical groundwork for future international video standards.

One of its primary deliverables is the Versatile Video Coding (VVC) standard, designated ITU-T H.266 / ISO/IEC

JVET conducts open evaluation processes, including call-for-proposals, reference software, test models, and conformance workflows. It generates
