JTBC

JTBC, formally JoongAng Tongyang Broadcasting Company, is a South Korean nationwide general cable television network and production company based in Seoul. It was established in 2011 by the JoongAng Media Network as a new broadcasting venture and began general programming on December 1, 2011. The network operates multiple channels, including the flagship JTBC and supplementary channels JTBC2, JTBC3 and JTBC4, along with the production arm JTBC Studios. Its programming spans news, drama, variety and entertainment, with an emphasis on offering alternatives to established broadcasters.

The News division provides programs such as JTBC Newsroom and other current affairs broadcasts, and its journalism has attracted attention for investigative reporting on major events in South Korea. In entertainment and drama, JTBC develops and distributes a range of popular variety formats and scripted series, many produced by JTBC Studios, which have reached domestic audiences and, in some cases, international viewers through distribution and co-production deals.

As a major player in Korea’s broadcasting landscape, JTBC combines news coverage, original dramas and entertainment programming with digital expansion into streaming and on-demand services. The network is part of the broader JoongAng Media Network and continues to pursue content production and distribution for both domestic and international audiences.
