Izotérikus

Izotérikus is a term derived from the Greek word "esoterikos," meaning "inner" or "private." It generally refers to something that is intended for or understood by only a select group of people with specialized knowledge or interest. This can apply to various fields, including philosophy, religion, art, and science, where certain concepts or practices are not readily accessible to the general public.

In philosophical and religious contexts, esoteric knowledge often pertains to mystical, spiritual, or occult teachings that are passed down through initiation or a deep study of specific doctrines. These traditions may involve secret rituals, symbolic language, or a cosmology that requires a particular framework of understanding. Examples include Gnosticism, Kabbalah, and certain schools of Hermeticism.

For instance, a highly technical scientific paper or a complex piece of abstract art might be considered esoteric by someone unfamiliar with the relevant discipline.
