Itskow

Itskow is a fictional town in the central region of the Republic of Lenaria, created for use in educational case studies and reference materials. It lies along the Lyr River and is surrounded by farmland and small woodlands. The municipality covers about 42 square kilometers and has a population estimated at 12,000 residents. The local economy combines agriculture—grain crops and dairy—with light manufacturing and services, including retail and logistics.

Its history traces to a medieval settlement that expanded in the 18th and 19th centuries, receiving rail connections that spurred growth. Itskow has administered a mayor-council government since the 1870s, with a five-member council and an annually elected mayor. The council is responsible for budgeting, planning, and local ordinances.

Geographically, Itskow experiences a temperate climate with four seasons, moderate rainfall, and occasional heat in summer. The built environment mixes historic brick-and-stone buildings with modern housing. Notable sites include the Town Hall, a riverside promenade, and the Itskow Museum of Local History. The town operates two primary schools and one secondary school, serving about 2,400 students, with vocational programs linked to local manufacturers.

Culturally, Itskow hosts an annual Harvest Festival celebrating regional agriculture, crafts, and music. The population is predominantly Lenarian-speaking, with small communities speaking minority languages.
