Itavians
The Itavians were an ancient Italic people who inhabited the region of Picenum in what is now central Italy. Little is definitively known about their origins, but they are believed to have been an Indo-European speaking group who migrated to the Italian peninsula. Archaeological evidence suggests their presence in the area from at least the Iron Age. Their society was likely organized into villages and tribal structures, common for the Italic peoples of the time.
The Itavians are primarily known through the accounts of Roman historians, who encountered them as the Roman
