Ismeretek

Ismeretek is a Hungarian term that refers to knowledge, information, or know-how held by a person or contained within a system. It is the plural form of ismeret and is commonly used in educational, professional, and information-management contexts to describe substantive content or competencies.

Etymology: The root is ismer- from the verb ismerni, meaning to know or to be acquainted with. Ismeret denotes knowledge or awareness; ismeretek designates multiple items of knowledge or know-how.

In education, ismeretek denote the factual content that learners are expected to acquire, such as alapismeretek (basic knowledge) or szakmai ismeretek (professional knowledge). In information technology and information management, the term is used for discrete knowledge assets or information items stored in repositories.

Conceptual scope: Ismeretek covers both theoretical information and practical skills. It is sometimes contrasted with tudás, which can imply a deeper or more integrated understanding, though in everyday use the terms overlap.
