Ismaïlia
Ismaïlia is a city located in northeastern Egypt on the west bank of the Suez Canal. It is the capital of the Ismaïlia Governorate. The city was founded in 1863 by Ferdinand de Lesseps, the French diplomat who spearheaded the construction of the Suez Canal. Ismaïlia was named after Ismail Pasha, the Khedive of Egypt at the time.
