Islamologist
An Islamologist is a scholar who studies Islam as a religion, historical civilization, and cultural system. The field, often called Islamic studies or islamology, encompasses religious texts, law, philosophy, theology, history, literature, art, and modern Muslim societies. Islamologists may be Muslim or non-Muslim and are typically employed in universities, research institutes, libraries, or museums.
