Iródhat
Iródhat was a prominent figure in the early history of the Kingdom of León, a medieval Christian kingdom in the Iberian Peninsula. Little is known about his life with certainty, but he is traditionally considered the first king of León, ruling from approximately 850 to 866 CE. His reign marked the beginning of León’s political independence from the broader Umayyad Caliphate of Córdoba, which had controlled much of the Iberian Peninsula since the 8th century.
