Intrakapsuläre

Intrakapsuläre is a German adjective used in medical and anatomical contexts to describe something located inside a capsule. A capsule is a closed, membrane-like layer that surrounds and protects an organ, tissue, or space, such as a joint capsule, a lens capsule, or an organ capsule. The term denotes internal localization within this boundary, as opposed to outside (extrakapsulär) or around (peri-kapsulär).

In practice, intrakapsuläre usage appears in several domains. In orthopedics, intracapsular fractures occur within a joint capsule, for example in the femoral neck, and are distinguished from extracapsular fractures that lie outside the capsule. In ophthalmology, intracapsular cataract extraction describes removal of the lens within the lens capsule; modern cataract surgery more commonly employs extracapsular techniques or phacoemulsification, but historical terminology includes intracapsular procedures. In pathology, intracapsular lesions or cysts refer to tumors or accumulations confined to the capsule of an organ or joint.

The term functions as a locational descriptor rather than a disease name. Its exact meaning depends on the clinical context, since it identifies a position relative to a capsule rather than a specific pathology. When translated into English, intracapsular is the common equivalent; in German medical literature, intrakapsulär appears in clinical notes and scholarly articles to convey the same sense of internal capsule confinement.
