Internetinfrastruktúra refers to the fundamental physical and organizational structures and facilities needed for the internet to operate. This encompasses a wide range of components, starting with the physical cables, both terrestrial and undersea, that transmit data across vast distances. These are supported by network equipment such as routers, switches, and servers, which direct and manage the flow of information.

At a higher level, internetinfrastruktúra includes the data centers that house servers and storage systems, and the internet exchange points (IXPs) where different networks connect to exchange traffic. The backbone of the internet is comprised of high-capacity fiber optic networks operated by telecommunication companies. Access to the internet for end-users is provided through various technologies, including broadband, mobile networks (like 4G and 5G), and satellite connections.

The development and maintenance of this complex infrastructure are crucial for ensuring reliable, fast, and widespread internet access.
