Internethálózat

An internethálózat, or internet network, refers to a collection of interconnected computers and other devices that communicate with each other using standardized protocols. This network enables the exchange of data, information, and resources across the globe. The internet is a global network of networks, consisting of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks, all interconnected by a broad array of electronic, wireless, and optical networking technologies.

The internet was developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s by the United States Department of Defense's Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) as a means to create a robust, fault-tolerant communication network that could survive a nuclear attack. The first message sent over the ARPANET, the precursor to the internet, was in 1969. Over the years, the internet has evolved significantly, transitioning from a military and academic network to a global commercial and social platform.

The internet operates on a client-server model, where clients (such as web browsers) request information from servers (such as web servers). The data is transmitted in packets, which are small units of data that can be routed independently through the network. The internet uses the Internet Protocol (IP) to address and route these packets.

The World Wide Web (WWW), invented by Tim Berners-Lee in 1989, is a system of interlinked hypertext documents accessed via the internet. It is the most visible part of the internet, providing a platform for information sharing, communication, and commerce.

The internet has revolutionized communication, commerce, and information access, enabling real-time interactions, global trade, and instant access to a vast amount of information. However, it also presents challenges such as privacy concerns, cybersecurity threats, and digital divides.
