Integroimisvakiolla, often denoted by the letter C, is a term that appears when performing indefinite integration in calculus. When one finds the antiderivative of a function, there is an inherent ambiguity. This is because the derivative of a constant is always zero. Therefore, if F(x) is an antiderivative of f(x), meaning F'(x) = f(x), then F(x) + C is also an antiderivative for any constant C, as (F(x) + C)' = F'(x) + 0 = f(x).

The indefinite integral of a function f(x) is thus represented as ∫f(x)dx = F(x) + C, where F(x) is a particular antiderivative and C represents the arbitrary constant of integration. This constant signifies that there is a family of functions, all differing by a constant value, that have the same derivative. In the context of definite integrals, which represent the area under a curve between two specific points, the constant of integration cancels out during evaluation, making it irrelevant for the final numerical result. However, for indefinite integrals, the inclusion of the integration constant C is crucial to represent the complete set of all possible antiderivatives.
