Instructivists

Instructivism refers to a pedagogical approach that emphasizes direct instruction, where the teacher actively transmits knowledge and skills to students. The effectiveness of instructivism can depend on the subject matter, the age and prior knowledge of the learners, and the specific learning objectives. It is often seen as efficient for teaching foundational knowledge and procedures, particularly in large group settings. However, critics argue that it may not foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, or deeper conceptual understanding as effectively as more student-centered approaches.
